KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA NO.2, NAVAL BASE KOCHI
CMP – REPORT ( 01.04.2017 TO 31.10.2017)
The Academic session 2017-18 started on 1st April 2017. Students and teachers assembled for the morning assembly at 8:30 am with full vigour and enthusiasm. Headmistress I/C Mrs. ShobhaKurup welcomed the students and teachers to the new academic session 2017-18.
Annual Day celebration – 07.04.2017
The 41st Annual day of the school was celebrated on 07.04.2017 in the Vidyalaya. Cmde.Prakash, VMC Chairman presided over the function. Mr. Merin Joseph, IPS was the guest of honour. She said “if we are determined and ready to do hard work we will get through and reach our destination”. Prizes and trophies were distributed to the children who proved excellence in various fields. Principal  presented the Vidyalaya report. Many teachers who proved their excellence in teaching were honoured by presenting certificate and shawl. The cultural programme presented by the students were well appreciated.

The Praveshotsav
Students of class I were given a grand welcome to the Vidyalaya on 05.06.2017. They came with lot of excitement and enthusiasm along with their parents. A colourful festive atmosphere was created. Being June 5th world environment day the special item was about environment. HM I/C Mrs. ShobhaKurup welcomed the students and their parents. After the assembly class teachers of class I met the parents in respective classes to give an idea about the class room activities, written work, health and hygiene, food habit.
Know Your Child Programme – 03.06.2017& 24.06.2017
Teachers interacted with the parents to discuss about the new pattern of examination systems, Subject Enrichment, class room activities, evaluation, parents were made aware of the importance of connecting with nature, protecting our environment etc. Instructions about the uniform, food, health and hygiene, cleanliness, punctuality etc were given in general. Go green and No plastic were stressed.


World environment day – 05.06.2017.
Along with Praveshostsav we celebrated World Environment day. Many children bought saplings and arranged on the stage at the time of assembly. This day is the United Nations principal vehicle for encouraging world wideawareness and action for the environment. Children along with Principal and HM I/C planted the saplings in the school campus.
Morning Assembly: Morning assembly started as per schedule in  thenew academic session. Monday and Tuesday by house, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday by classes. Instructions by HM and Principal add to the charm of the assembly.
School readiness Programme – 01.06.2017
This was introduced with the intention to initiate children to their schooling and to familiarize them with school environment. Teachers try to develop their listening skill, oral expression, vocabulary singing, skill of drawing and colouring etc. Children are made to introduce themselves, know your
neighbour etc. obeying teachers, greeting teachers keeping the class room clean, keeping their belongingness, proper toilet habits, food habits etc are practiced.
CCA House division house meeting – 12.06.2017
Students of all classes from I to V are divided equally into 4 houses. The house Incharges and associate Incharges are also selected. CCA Programmes started with house meeting on 12.06.2017 and house leaders and nominees for school leader post were selected. A number of CCA events are chalked for the session. 
Club Activity:-
All the students were divided into  different clubs. Club activities are done by students of primary section under the supervision of class teachers.
Four clubs were formed and the children took part in the club activities as per the schedule. The clubs were Maths, Literary, GK and Nature respectively.
TLM: The teaching learning materials were distributed to the teachers as per their requirements. A record is maintained. List of materials for each month, for each teachers is prepared every month and items are purchased as per demand.
Cub and Bulbuls: The Cubs and Bulbul pack meeting started on 16.06.2017. They have the meetings every Friday. Children from class II to V are included in the movement. This year also class teachers of all the four division of class II are asked to select 3 cubs and 3 bulbuls from each class.
Reading week-19.06.2017
Reading week is organized to remember the pioneer of literary movement P N Panicker. Various programmes were organized to develop language skill.  Mass reading was conducted in the assembly hall. All Teachers and students participated.
International Yoga day
The International Yoga Day was observed on 21.06.2017 in the Vidyalaya. Mrs. Shalini , The Yoga Instructor spoke on the benefits and importance of Yoga practice in daily life. Class V students attended the Yoga session . The Principal and a few teachers also took part. Different postures were demonstrated and the students practiced them giving full concentration.
Film Show
Film shows were arranged for all classes in the month of July on various dates.
Surprise Inspection:
A surprise Inspection was held on 11.07.2017. A team of inspectors including two Principals and one HM under the leadership of our eminent Assistant Commissioner Shri.Karunakaran Sir inspected the functioning of the Vidyalaya. The Primary section got very good appreciation for the good work done.
CMP Cluster level meeting:
CMP meeting was held in KV2 Naval Base on 02.04.2017. HM In Charges of all the schools of Ernakulam cluster participated in the meeting. Principals of different schools also were present. Different activities under CMP  were discussed and decided. Smt. Maya George, Principal INS Dronacharya, cluster Incharge presided over the meeting

Subject wise meeting/ Class wise meeting:
Subject teachers of every class met in different class room and discussed about the teaching learning of concerned subject. Also discussed the subject enrichment activities and marks to be awarded for each,CCE, handwriting of children, how to improve handwriting, spelling etc. 
Independance Day
Independence Day was observed with due respect and joy on August 15th 2017.  National Flag was hoisted by Mrs. Liziamma Daniel followed by National Anthem.  Speeches in English and Hindi were given by students followed by cultural programmes by Primary Children. Many parents were present on the occasion.  A documentary “ Bharathiyam– Indian Sainikan directed by Dev G Devan , the director himself graced the occasion with his presence. Sweets also were distributed to the Students.
Open House
Open House was held on 19.08.2017 to distribute the papers of periodic test, class III to V, aparent meeting was also conducted from 9:00am to 11:30am. Subject teachers pointed out the areas to be improved by slow learners.

Community Lunch:
Community lunch was arranged for all the classes from I to V in different dates. Children brought different food items and shared and ate. Children along with teachers enjoyed the community Lunch. They got an opportunity to learn sharing and caring through this programme
Investiture Ceremony.
Investiture Ceremony was held on 18.08.2017. The HM I/C welcomed the gathering. The oath of the office was administered by the Principal, Smt. Liziamma Daniel to the young and energetic leaders and she presented badges to the school captains. Other badges for Deputy captains, house captains etc were awarded by HM Incharge, Senior teachers and house Incharges respectively.  After awarding the badges of responsibility the Principal addressed the students and motivated them to become good leaders. School Captain Master Ashin proposed the Vote of thanks. CCA Incharge Mrs. Preethy K R co-ordinated the function with the whole hearted  cooperation of all the teachers.




OnamCelebration
Onam was celebrated in a grand manner on 30.08.2017. Primary children presented a dance drama ' OnamOrorma'. Through this programme many Onamfestive and cultural items like Story behind Onam ,Thiruvathira Kali, Pookkalam, Pulikali, Vanchipattuetc were shown.  Onam celebration invoked rich memories of an illustrious past.
Teachers day
Teachers day was celebrated on 31.08.2017. Class XII students donned the role of teachers. The assembly programme was presented by Teachers. Lighting the lamp and garlanding of the portrait of Dr. S Radhakrishnan was a part of the ceremony. Teachers were honouredby Student-Teachers with flowers. Principal addressed the gathering. Students teachers took class on that day. Cultural programme were held in the afternoon. Afternoon witnessed the farewell function of Mrs. Rose flexy, PRT and Mrs. Padmaja, TGT.

World literacy day:
World literacy day was celebrated in the school on 08.09.2017 in the assembly. Mrs. Geetha S Nair , PRT spoke and stressed importance of observing literacy day. One child presented word for the day " LITERACY" and explained the meaning.

हिन्दी पखवाडा समारोह
 राष्ट्रभाषा हिन्दी के प्रचार केलिए हर साल की तरह इस वर्ष भी सितंबर महीने में हिन्दी पखवाडा समारोह का आयोजन हुआ । इसी सिलसिले में हर दिन प्रातकालीन सभा हिन्दी में आयोजित किया गया ।हिन्दी भाषा के प्रति रुचि और बढाने केलिए हर कक्षा में हिन्दी की प्रतियोगिताएँ चलाई गई जिसमें हर बच्चा भाग ले सकता था। कक्षा पहली से लेकर पाँचवी तक दो - दो प्रतियोगिताएँ चलाई गई और विजेता घोषित किए गए ।

Partnership with nearby Government school.
Two teachers Mrs. P A Elsy, HM and Mrs. Philomina Joy of KPLP Schhol, Perumanoor, Thevara visited KV2 Naval Base, Kochi with six students of their school. They reached at 10:00am. HM Incharge Mrs. ShobhaKurup welcomed them. Primary children presented some cultural programmes to entertain them. Students of KPLP interacted with students of KV2 and teachers. They were taken to resource room. HM of KPLP addressed the gathering. Principal I/C Mrs. Shiny Thomas presented gifts to the children. Mrs. Bhanumathi K P, PRT proposed the vote of thanks. It was really a wonderful experience for both host and KPLP school.
Social Service
Our school KV2 Naval Base organized a visit to SOS village, Aluva and Old age home on 16.09.2017. A group of children from primary section along with HM Incharge Mrs. ShobhaKurup and some other teachers visited SOS Village, Aluva. They spent some good time with them, interacted and presented them some gifts. Then they visited the old age home. They were excited to have children and teachers with them and they looked cheerful. They were also presented new clothes. The trip reminded the children the reality of what true life is.

Sports& Games Competitions
Sports and Games competitions were organized on 13.09.2017. Schedule was prepared and competitions conducted accordingly. Children participated with great enthusiasm and spirit. Selection for cluster level competitions was done.
Parent Teacher meeting.
A parent teacher meeting was held on 23.09.2017. From 9:15 to 10am meeting was held in the respective class rooms of their wards. Main agenda was the safety and security of the children. A security council was formed with parent members, teacher representative and Principal. From each division a class Parent Representative (CPR) was elected. After the meeting Dr. Sreedharakumar ,Pediatrician of General Hospital, Ernakulam gave an awareness about MR Vaccine.
Funday:
Funday was organized for class I and II on 21.10.2017, Saturday in the Vidyalaya Auditorium. Many games conducted for the children. Many activities like paper folding , role paly, Monoactetc were conducted for the children.

Half yearly Examination
Half yearly exam started on 18.10.2017 and ended on 28.10.2017.  For classes I  & II no pen paper test were there. Progress report were prepared. Open house to be conducted on 03.11.2017. E-card for only I and II were prepared.
Magazine release
Class Magazines were released on 30.10.2017 in the assembly by the Principal, Mrs. Liziamma  Daniel. All the classes prepared their class magazines in a wonderful way.
Kerala Piravi
We celebrated keralapiravi in our school with special assembly programme. Class I A students presented a special programme about Kerala and Cultural, its culture and tradition. It was truly a day to remind the beauty and goodness of the people of Kerala.
SwachhVidyalaya Project
This is a part of the SwachhBharathAbhiyan to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi's Vision of clean India. As part of the project, awareness programmes for students were being conducted. Paper waste reduced. Plastic materials, bottles, wrappers etc were banned in the school premises. Drawing and painting competitions were conducted class wise.
